US, Ireland issue Annual Fact Book

The racing authorities of two of the main racing nations, the US and Ireland issued each their Annual Fact Book.

The US 2005 Fact Book, which can be found at www.jockeyclub.com/factbook.asp illustrates the changes in the breeding and racing landscape over the last 2 decades. In addition to breeding and racing, it includes sections devoted to sales, wagering and a wide-range directory of international, national and state organizations.

The Horse Racing Ireland Fact Book is the first of its kind, but intends to become an annual compilation of the key statistics for the racing industry in Ireland. The first issue illustrates the strong growth of all aspects of Irish racing during the last half decade. Double digit growth is reported on fixtures, races, number of runners, prize money, betting, breeding, horses in training and commercial sponsorship.
