WINX (AUS) [132] is the second highest rated horse in the world, following an impressive season that saw her win all nine starts as part of her current 22 race winning streak. Winx earned her highest rating of the year in the China Horse Club George Ryder Stakes (G1), and as a result, she is also the highest rated turf horse and highest rated filly/mare of 2017.

Two horses share the third spot. CRACKSMAN (GB) [130] received his rating with a dominating performance in the QIPCO Champion Stakes (G1) to end his season. With that effort, he became the highest rated 3-year-old in the world.

Meanwhile, GUN RUNNER (USA) [130] was a model of consistency and achieved his highest figure four times, including in the Stephen Foster Stakes (G1), Whitney Stakes (G1), Woodward Stakes Presented by NYRA Bets (G1), and Breeders’ Cup Classic (G1). His only defeat of the year came when he finished second to Arrogate in the Dubai World Cup.

European Horse of the Year ENABLE (GB) [128] is fifth after her easy victory in the Qatar Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe (G1), while ULYSSES (IRE) [126], a competitor Enable vanquished twice, is in sixth for his effort in the Juddmonte International Stakes (G1).

Seventh place is split between CLOTH OF STARS (IRE) [125], who finished second behind Enable in the Arc, and HARRY ANGEL (IRE) [125], who earned his highest rating with his win in the 32Red Sprint Cup (G1).
Finally, three horses round out the Top 10 by sitting in the co-ninth position. COLLECTED (USA) [124] was second to Gun Runner in the Breeders’ Cup Classic, while two-time Japanese Horse of the Year KITASAN BLACK (JPN) [124] finished his career in style by taking the Arima Kinen (The Grand Prix) (G1) and RIBCHESTER (IRE) [124] shined in the Qatar Prix du Moulin de Longchamp (G1).

Overall, 334 horses, trained in 16 different countries, were rated 115 or higher. The full list and further information on the LONGINES World's Best Racehorse Rankings are available on the IFHA website ifhaonline.org.
