Trend of gaming taxation in Australia is upward

The trend in taxation is upward and 2006 state elections in South Australia, Tasmania and Victoria will have little impact on gambling policies. These are some of the findings of a review of gaming lawyers Lander & Rogers.

Among the issues ahead for 2006 are a review of race and sports bookmaking legislation; a review of the Interactive Gambling Code of Practice and; a review of independent codes of practice by South Australia’s Independent Gaming Authority.

A full review of regulatory developments in 2005 and issues for 2006 can be found at: http://www.landers.com.au/practice/comm/aru_feb2006.pdf
