Horse’s misfortune results in unfair betting on exchange

The recent sad death of a champion horse during the course of a race revealed the scrupulous minds of some bettors, who are said to have layed the horse (offering bets on the horse to lose the race) after it collapsed.

While race goers where shocked by the sudden death of the horse, betting continued on the betting exchange for another three minutes before the trading was stopped. The betting exchange will now try and establish the time of death of a horse in or before the race, after which all bets will be declared void.
