French racing appoints new head

The French racing body France Galop has appointed Hubert Monzat as its new Director General.

Monzat, 55, has a long standing and prolific career in public service. He has also worked in recent years for HH Aga Kahn on projects related to the renovation of the Chantilly race course. He is currently advisor to the Miniter of Budget, where he inter alia worked on the opening of the online betting market.

Hubert Monzat will take his position full time at France Galop at 15 July.
