US betting continues to slide

After a decline of 6.9% in October, US betting fell by another 10% in November 2008, compared to November 2007.

Further figures published by the company Equibase in its “Thoroughbred Racing Economic Indicators”:

  • prize money dropped by 2,3%,
  • the number of races increased by more than 5%.

    Total betting on US races is down 6.17% for the first 11 months this year compared to the first 11 months last year.
