THE LONGINES WORLD’S BEST RACEHORSE RANKINGS

After her victory in the Darley Yorkshire Oaks (G1), ENABLE (GB) [128] has moved to the top of the rankings and is the highest rated horse in the seventh edition of the LONGINES World’s Best Racehorse Rankings for 2019.

Now three-for-three on the year, Enable defeated MAGICAL (IRE) [122] by 2 ¾ lengths in the Yorkshire Oaks to improve her rating from 126 to 128. Third-place finisher Lah Ti Dar was another 10 lengths behind. Earlier this season, Enable beat CRYSTAL OCEAN (GB) [127] by a neck in the King George VI And Queen Elizabeth QIPCO Stakes (G1), and she bested Magical by three-quarters of a length in the Coral-Eclipse (G1) in her seasonal debut.

 

GHAIYYATH (IRE) [126], a newcomer to this year’s rankings, has taken over the third position after impressing in Germany. He dominated in the 147th LONGINES Grosser Preis von Baden (G1), which he won by a final margin of 14 lengths. Earlier this year, Ghaiyyath won the Prix d’Harcourt (G2) in France.

 

Meanwhile, BATTAASH (IRE) [125] is now ranked co-fourth after improving his rating from 121 to 125 with his victory in the Coolmore Nunthorpe Stakes (G1). He won the Nunthorpe by 3 ¾ lengths and broke the course record set in 1990 by Dayjur in the process. Other victories to Battaash’s credit this year include the King George Qatar Stakes (G2) and Armstrong Aggregates Temple Stakes (G2).

 

Additionally in Europe, JAPAN (GB) [122] joins the rankings after his victory by a head over Crystal Ocean in the Juddmonte International Stakes (G1). Japan was carrying 7lbs less than his rival in the weight-for-age contest. It was Japan’s third consecutive win following victories in the Juddmonte Grand Prix de Paris (G1) and King Edward VII Stakes (G2).

 

In Japan, meanwhile, BLAST ONEPIECE (JPN) [120] proved victorious in the Sapporo Kinen (G2) to join the rankings. Furthermore, in North America, CODE OF HONOR (USA) [120] finds himself ranked after winning the Runhappy Travers Stakes (G1) by three lengths.
